OCTOBER's  READ & REVIEW

Phew, the school holidays have flown by and now is the time to concentrate more fully on all things reading and writing. Hope you enjoyed my summer reads, I know they  gave me 'food for thought,' made me laugh out loud, and also the inspiration to improve my writing. Here is Octobers read and as usual there are no spoilers ~ I don't give too much away of storylines as it's only fair that you read a book for yourself without preconceived ideas. I just reflect how the books  made me feel ~ you know, whether they are in fact worth recommending! So far, they have all been worthy!

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman

A beautiful, moving story of Eleanor, trapped in her own world. That is until something out of the ordinary happens that changes her sense of who she is slowly but surely. Gail injects humour into what is essentially a sad story. I so rooted for a happy ending. Eleanor Elephant is so well written, and Gail has captured perfectly the voice of Eleanor. It's a heartwarming and thought provoking read, that challenges your perception of why people act in certain ways or say the things that they do. It's been described as "funny, touching and unpredictable" and this is so true. I'd be delighted to read this amazing debut novel again and again.
