Happy New Year!

As New years Eve blends into the night, brashly dressed in sparkly colours against the cold, we wait.

Ready to shed the old and grasp the welcome of the new.

Every year we boast next year will be better! I'll be good, thinner, smarter, happier, whatever.

I'll find love and ditch the toxic relationship that has been holding me back.

There is something quiet and reflective about a New Year Day morning.

The sound of silent positivity hangs in the air about what is to come and what might be.

A certainty that this year is my time. "It has to be," we tell ourselves.

I have a big birthday in the summer, the sort with a big fat nought on the end. Plans are already in place to celebrate big, ticking a bucket list box item as I go.

On February 16th the Chinese New Year of the Dog starts.

Year of the Dog was my birth year too.

Auspicious!

It will be a good one.
