New Year, New Start? Let Me Think About That!

I'm not one for new Years Resolutions as I think they set you up to fail. New diet, starving hungry two days in and resort to stuffing your face? Gym membership that is hardly ever used? We know the feeling.
If you want to make changes, or promise yourself to do things differently, the time to start is the day you're in! Don't wait, no excuses!
I saw this and thought that it sums up my 2019 perfectly. This I'm carrying into 2020 and resolve to continue with (uh oh, I'm contradicting myself here).
What else am I up to? I'm in the process of upgrading my Website / Blog, without hopefully losing previous postings. Wix.com is upgrading its infrastructure and so in turn, 'writerintheattic.com' needs to be updated too. The time is right, what was I saying about new years resolutions? I'm laughing (crying isn't an option) as although I'm fairly tech savvy, this transition is proving not as straightforward as I might have hoped. What's the worst that can happen? If losing previous posts is it, then c'est la vie and start again I say. Watch this space.
While I'm in updating mode, I've decided not to constantly review books on here and to have a 'My Book of The Month' instead. I love to read but offering reviews on my monthly reading pile became too onerous. It was very time-consuming and I ought to be focusing on my own writing and getting published after all! Same with interviewing other writers, fun though it was. I might still do so every now and then but I'm putting me as a writer first. See there's a trend going on here ~ I did learn something from last year!
Ok, here's to 2020 and to smashing it!
